Description
This piece is part of the ex-votos used as a central piece in religious compositions. In the Spanish Baroque style imported from Europe at the time of colonization, it remains among the billions of ex-votos kept in Mexican popular culture. These pieces are hand-cast in a metal alloy called zamak (zinc, aluminum, magnesium and copper). The artisans who make this type of piece call them milagros.
