Description

Rayo de Jalisco — The Hero of Guadalajara

The Rayo de Jalisco lineage is among the most prestigious in lucha libre. The father, active from the 1960s, was a major técnico in EMLL. His son, Rayo de Jalisco Jr., active from 1977 through the 2010s, became even more famous: a multiple-time CMLL and UWA World Heavyweight Champion, he was one of the most popular técnicos of the 1980s-90s. His legendary rivalry with Cien Caras, culminating in a mask vs. mask match in 1996, remains one of the greatest feuds in CMLL history.

Lucha libre is a living tradition of Mexico, born in the 1930s and inseparable from its legendary arenas: Arena México in Mexico City, the cathedral of Mexican wrestling inaugurated in 1956, Arena Coliseo, and Arena Puebla. Every Friday night, thousands of spectators gather to watch masked técnicos and rudos clash in spectacular bouts. This Mexican wrestling mask Rayo de Jalisco is part of our collection of Mexican wrestling masks, handmade in Mexico.
