Luis Ignacio Urive Alvirde, known as Místico, is the biggest commercial phenomenon in lucha libre of the 2000s. Since his 2004 debut in CMLL, he filled Arena México like no wrestler had since El Santo. A multiple-time world champion, his signature move La Mística became legendary. After a stint in WWE as Sin Cara, he returned to CMLL where he remains one of the biggest draws. His cultural impact has been compared to El Santo’s — the highest praise possible in lucha libre.

Lucha libre is a living tradition of Mexico, born in the 1930s and inseparable from its legendary arenas: Arena México in Mexico City, the cathedral of Mexican wrestling inaugurated in 1956, Arena Coliseo, and Arena Puebla. Every Friday night, thousands of spectators gather to watch masked técnicos and rudos clash in spectacular bouts.
