Description
Huracan Ramirez — The Inventor of the Hurricanrana
Daniel García Arteaga, known as Huracan Ramirez, is one of the founding figures of lucha libre’s golden age, active from the 1940s through the 1990s. He created and popularized the hurricanrana, one of the most replicated moves in world wrestling that still bears his name today. A star of EMLL alongside El Santo and Blue Demon, he helped establish lucha libre as mainstream entertainment in Mexico from the 1950s onward.
Lucha libre is a living tradition of Mexico, born in the 1930s and inseparable from its legendary arenas: Arena México in Mexico City, the cathedral of Mexican wrestling inaugurated in 1956, Arena Coliseo, and Arena Puebla. Every Friday night, thousands of spectators gather to watch masked técnicos and rudos clash in spectacular bouts. This Mexican wrestling mask Huracan Ramirez is part of our collection of Mexican wrestling masks, handmade in Mexico.
