Description
Blue Demon — The Rival Turned Ally of El Santo
Alejandro Muñoz Moreno, alias Blue Demon, is the second greatest legend of lucha libre after El Santo. Active from 1948 to 1989, first rival and then legendary partner of El Santo, he shared the billing of numerous films alongside the silver mask. Although he lost his mask to El Santo in 1952, his blue design remains one of the most recognizable in the world — proof that the power of the character transcended the stipulation. His son, Blue Demon Jr., perpetuates the legacy.
Lucha libre is a living tradition of Mexico, born in the 1930s and inseparable from its mythical arenas : Arena México in Mexico City, cathedral of Mexican wrestling inaugurated in 1956, Arena Coliseo or Arena Puebla. Every Friday night, thousands of spectators flock there to watch técnicos and rudos masked wrestlers face off in spectacular matches. This Blue Demon Mexican wrestling mask is part of our collection of Mexican wrestling masks, handmade in Mexico.
