Santo vs the Vampire Women

El Santo, El Enmascarado de Plata (1917–1984), embodied the masked avenger of the Mexican people for half a century. His filmography of over 50 titles gave birth to a unique cinematic genre: cine de luchadores.

Santo vs las Mujeres Vampiro (1962), directed by Alfonso Corona Blake, is widely regarded as the finest film of the entire series. A coven of vampire women, led by an ancient queen, awakens after centuries to claim a young woman as their heir. Santo is summoned to protect her. The film was selected for preservation by the Mexican film archive and introduced Santo to international audiences.
